April Fools Day and Easter

For April Fools' Day this year we went over to Celeste's house for dinner. We made the kids "dessert for dinner", with mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and shredded chicken layered in a milkshake glass with a cherry tomato on top. It was super fun and they thought it was so cool to eat out of a glass. We also gave them a tricky drink, which was Jello in cups with a straw inside so it looked like a drink until they went to drink some. Haha! April Fools Day! For dessert we made cupcakes that looked like mashed potatoes. In years past I've made the whole TV dinner cupcake thing, but it's so time consuming and the best one is the mashed potatoes (caramel on cupcakes is yummy!) so we just went for that.
Our "dessert for dinner". So yummy!
Wait a second... why isn't this straw working?
Madelynn was not amused. She wanted juice, dangit!
Even after seeing that the other kids' juice was not actually juice, Jack still had to try it out.

All you do is make vanilla or yellow cupcakes, cover with white frosting to look like potatoes (create a well for the yellow Starburst and caramel), and top with the Starburst and caramel sauce. So good!

Easter was fun this year. I didn't take pictures of the actual event. Just know that the Easter Bunny came, the kids got some candy and a coloring book, and we made Tomb Buns. It was a such a great way to teach the kids about the meaning of Easter (and yummy too).
Pay no attention to the recycling bin in the background... Instead focus on how cute my kids are!
I see a future model! She's so cute, and always ready for the camera.

I swear she looks like a wedding cake in that dress, but it is so adorable. And so is she :)

LOVE Jack in plaid and brown. He is just too cute in those colors... and that dimple... :)
